SIN AND THE SINNER

In the past few months this has been the hammering question in my mind; What is a Sin? Who is a Sinner?

Let me put some food for thought on your platter.

  • A person does an act that’s condemned by the society and the cultural and moral police but for that person, the act is no sin. So in such a situation should the act be called a sin and that man a sinner? Ironically we call it a sin and the person sinner coz all but one think the same way. TAKEN
  • If a person does an act for which no one says or feel anything but the person feels he has committed a sin and considers himself a sinner. In such a situation what would the general verdict be?

Thus the question arise that what is a sin? Is it a sin, when all but one, think, that it’s a sin or is it a sin, when the person committing it considers it a sin?
In the former situation it would get inevitable to pin down the delinquent coz he would never owe up hence a bench mark needs to be set but what in the latter case when the person owes up but no one really bothers it.

Isn’t it a sin, when my conscience tells so but no one really feels that I’m punishable? Wouldn’t the inner fire of purgation make it a hell for the person to live anymore? But then committing suicide and failing in it is another sin BY LAW. What does it leave for the person then?
?
?

Ironic, but being a sinner in both the cases seems to be the only solution.

Well, when i make an action, i dotn reallt always call it a SIN at the time of that act is being done. i call it either a:
* good choice
* mistake
only then, some time afterwards we once again acknowlegde that we have sinned or made mistakes. but this all takes time.

there is also a fird situation. when a person does something that is seen by a lot of ppl & considered a sin, yet that person doesnt see anything bad in that, but in general it is bad & those other ppl see it & keep silent, take no actions - so this is a crowd's sin. being neutral, for u see u cant be neutral, u r either good or bad. that's religion

another thing that causes doubts. in different reliigons we have different norms & different things r considered sins.
i, myself, consider them mistakes.

It is all about perceptions...
A person should ask himself if he really cares about what the society thinks? Does it matter to him? Society talks on good as well as bad things and both die down after a certain period..The real question is about his conscience. Does he have a clear conscience or does it eat him? That's where the answer lies whether an act is a sin or not for me. Yes all of us commit mistakes and that's y v r humans but lamenting is not the answer rather learning from them and moving on is :)
